I thought it would be fun
To plant the bunnies lunch.
So rather than to run
They'd have to stay and munch.

But bunnies are not wise
For mammals of their size
The lettuce of a season
They gobbled without reason.

And though it wasn't fitting
They ate it in one sitting!

This could become a habit,
The feeding of the rabbit.
Lettuce feed you, I said to the Yard Bunny.
"With relish," he replied.
I dig it. You veg out.
Double pun score! :o)
I had to pull a rabbit out of my hat on that one.
I give! Ears to you!
You pullin' my leg, er, rabbit's foot?
Your haunch is right on!
That was a rare-bit of humor.
